Summary
American Management Resources Corporation (AMRC) performed an initial indoor air quality assessment within a high-rise condominium unit. The concern was pertaining to visible mold growth appearing on surfaces. There were no known leaks that had occurred.
Challenge
Why was mold growing on surfaces when the HVAC was operating as expected? Why was it more prominent in certain rooms?
Solution
It was discovered that the unit was under negative pressure. Hot and humid air was infiltrating through the sliding glass doors causing a humidity bloom and mold to grow on surfaces. As you moved away from the patio doors, the humidity decreased.
Project Highlights
- The cause of the elevated humidity was discovered by the AMRC team.
- The project was completed on time and within budget.
