Asbestos Abatement
Asbestos abatement
Asbestos abatement is a set of procedures designed to control the release of asbestos fibers from asbestos-containing materials (ACM). Typically the area of abatement will be sealed off, preventing access by the building occupants, owners, and/or the general public. In some cases, this will be the entire building, in others, just a portion of it. Our team will wear protective clothing and use respirators to protect ourselves.
Most worker exposures occur during the removal of asbestos and the renovation and maintenance of buildings and structures that contain asbestos. The AMRC workforce is fully trained and certified and has been performing asbestos consulting, testing, and training since 1994. By adding asbestos abatement services, we provide our clients turnkey service, from testing through removal and disposal.
Asbestos abatement is highly regulated
Asbestos abatement is regulated through the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and enforced in the State of Florida by the Florida Department of Environment Protection (FDEP). Additionally, there are eight counties with established programs that require testing: Sarasota, Pinellas, Broward, Duval/City of Jacksonville, Hillsborough, Miami-Dade, Orange, and Palm Beach. A complex set of rules governs the thorough inspection procedures prior to a renovation or demolition activity, reporting, notification and handling and disposal requirements.
AMRC is familiar with all of the rules and requirements of asbestos abatement. Using our services can save you a great deal of time and effort exploring an area with which you may not be familiar.

Asbestos abatement in three easy steps
Asbestos abatement begins with accurate testing by qualified, experienced professionals.
Following the inspection and survey, we will recommend a plan for asbestos abatement that will include the details on how the area will be prepared, treated, and cleaned up. If the abatement process for your project includes removal of the ACM, we will provide a description of how that will be safely accomplished. The scope of work will detail the local, state, and federal laws by which we must abide during asbestos abatement.
The third step is the implementation of the plan.
